Peace Boat Appeal for Volunteers
Peace Boat has been supporting the survivors of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in Ishinomaki since March 17. We have made a long term commitment to the community, and we are continuing to aid recovery through a variety of projects. We are appealing for Japanese-speaking volunteers in particular to help with our psychosocial care projects in the Temporary Housing Complexes. Relief International, an international humanitarian NPO based in Los Angeles, is offering up to $5,000 to schools in Iwate, Fukushima and Miyagi to support the recovery of their music programs through the collaborative "Jam 4 Japan" Music Education Grant.
